More than 130 SOUTHWORKS employees pursued professional development programs with AWS...
LONDON SEPTEMBER 18, 2020 - SOUTHWORKS, a global systems integrator and remote software development firm, announced that it achieved Select Consulting Partner status in both the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Partner Network (APN) and the AWS Public Sector Partner Program.
The APN is a global partner program focused on helping APN Partners build successful AWS-based businesses or solutions by providing business, technical, marketing, and go-to-market support for commercial and public sector organizations.
To qualify for the Select tier of the program, partners must demonstrate their technical capabilities in the AWS ecosystem and provide comprehensive references for their competencies. As an APN Select Consulting Partner, SOUTHWORKS now has access to a variety of resources, training, tools, and support to build, market, and sell with the APN.
In the wake of the global COVID-19 pandemic and lockdowns, the company created a training program for employees, giving them the encouragement, tools and opportunity to train for certifications with its biggest technology partners. In the three months that SOUTHWORKS has offered the program, more than 130 employees have taken an AWS training course, with more than 70 achieving accreditations for various AWS skillsets. As a result, SOUTHWORKS was able to achieve APN Select Consulting Partner status this summer and is working towards achieving Advanced Consulting Partner status by the end of the year.
“Cloud services are essential for our customers, whether we’re helping a media or entertainment company keep up with demand for its streaming service, or guiding a company through its digital transformation,” said SOUTHWORKS EVP and GM, Johnny Halife.
“Our customers rely on AWS, so achieving SelectConsulting Partner status in the AWS Partner Network is a great way for us to demonstrate that we have the advanced skills needed to get the most out of projects built on AWS, and also ensure that our developers maintain their expertise as the platform evolves."
Achieving APN Select Consulting Partner status also ensures that SOUTHWORKS’ customers know that projects built on AWS will receive enhanced support and dedicated resources from the AWS team.
“Our goal is to make sure that our customers know they have a team that brings a smarter, more informed and faster approach to everything they do, every day,” Halife said.
“Our company tagline is ‘Make. Everything. Right.’ By creating a team of in-house AWS experts here at SOUTHWORKS, we can do that for our customers by giving them the expertise and vision they need to build great things on AWS.”
